Reset The Oil Change Light On A 2006 Chevrolet Equinox

This is the process to reset the oil change light on a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox

  1. Turn the ignition to the run position.
  2. Press and release the gas pedal three times within 5 seconds immediately after the ignition key is in the run position.
  3. If the “Change Engine Oil Soon” indicator is off then the light has been reset. If it is still on try steps 1 and 2 again.
  4. Then turn the ignition to the off position and then start the engine. The light should remain off if it is reset properly

  1. Turn the key to the ignition position.
  2. Using the “DIC Menu” button and the thumbwheel, scroll until you see “Remaining Oil Life” in the DIC display.
  3. Press the “Set” button until the DIC display shows oil life at “100%”.
  4. When the DIC prompts you, use the thumbwheel to highlight “Yes or No” and press the “Set/Clear” button to confirm.
  5. Then turn the key to off and then start the engine to verify that the”Change Oil” light is not on.
